The effect

Approach someone and show off your new cool app on the iPhone which is basically like a deck of playing cards. You can easily flick through cards at random.

Tell your spectators you want to try something spooky. Hand them the phone and without you looking they can flick to any card they want and memorize the picture of that card.

Then they can flick through some random cards to ensure their card is lost. To further ensure that you're not going to use the phone to tell what card they memorized you put it away without even looking at it.

While they focus on the image of the card you start drawing an image on a piece of paper. In the end it becomes clear that the image you are drawing is in fact an image of the card they memorized.

Pick up the phone and let them try again!

The effect is astonishing and can be repeated without any problem.
